Overview

RTACC is an intensive 4-day programme for Close Protection (CP) operatives, security team leaders and high-risk deployment personnel who may be required to manage life-threatening trauma and medical emergencies while operating in high-threat, remote or hostile environments.

The course develops advanced trauma care capability and clinical decision-making, enabling security teams to manage multiple casualties, coordinate medical response, and maintain operational continuity until advanced medical support is available.

This course is formally recognised by the UK Security Industry Authority (SIA) as meeting the medical training requirement for licensed Close Protection operatives.

What you will learn:

  • Scene assessment, tactical safety and triage

  • Managing multiple casualties under operational pressure

  • Advanced bleeding control (wound packing, haemostatics, tourniquets)

  • Advanced airway management (OP/NPA/Supraglottic, BVM ventilation)

  • Thoracic trauma and chest injuries (chest seals, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry)

  • Shock recognition and circulatory compromise

  • Head injuries, burns, fractures, musculoskeletal trauma

  • Immediate life support (adult/child), pit crew resuscitation, AED and post-ROSC care

  • Working with evacuation teams, medevac coordination and casualty handover
